Item Upgrades: The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly

You can see the CID/GID number and Unicode value of the glyph by moving your mouse.

The Glyphs Panel will keep track of your most recent 35 glyphs and display them under Recently Used in the first row (you have to expand the panel to ensure you can see all 35). You can also remove a glyph from this list by clicking on it using the right-click or Control-click, and then selecting Remove From Recent Glyphs.

The Glyphs Panel also lets you to design a custom set of glyphs, which can be useful if you frequently need to type certain text types. This will save you the time of manually inserting each glyph when you need it.

A custom glyph set may comprise the maximum number of glyphs, 31 that include the base name as well as its suffix. The base name must contain uppercase English alphabetic letters (A-Z), lowcase English alphabetic letters (a-z), European numbers (0-9), underscore (_), and other glyphs. The glyphs that make up the suffix can contain ligatures or contextual alternative which are variants that combine two or more characters into one visually unifying glyph.

Reroll Tokens

Upgrades are the primary mechanic that offers benefits on items, like extra stats. They come in different types: reroll levels up, recycle and reroll. Each type offers a different set of extra bonuses to an item.

Reroll Tokens can be used to alter an item's base stats and upgrade numbers. They can also be used to reroll substats of rings. This can be useful if an item's fully upgraded (or "potential") power is less than the player would like or if its current substats are not ideal.

The Blueprint Desk allows players to purchase new appliances, ingredients, and Decorations for their restaurant. Blueprints are envelopes that appear at the start of each preparation phase. They can be opened using the Grab. Each blueprint comes with its own icon, and each category of upgradeable item has each with a distinct icon:

Selecting a franchise card from the Blueprint Desk will allow you to obtain certain appliances or ingredients that are needed for certain recipes. Some Appliances and Ingredients are considered staple and will never be available at the Shop or through a reroll, while others have a higher chance of appearing if a certain Franchise Card is selected from the Blueprint Desk. The Staple Pool is where all the items will stay for the duration of the game. The same goes for non-staple equipment. transferred to the Seed Pool when it is purchased from the Blueprint Desk.

Recycled Items

The magic happens when you use the third "R," recycling. When you recycle a product that is made of recycled materials, you're not just creating a better environment, but you are also giving the item new life. Most recycled products are returned to the original manufacturer to be remanufactured as an entirely new product. This is referred to as "closing of the recycling loop."

If a person throws items in their recycling bin on the curb the item is sent to a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) where it is separated and sorted into various components. Then it is offered to manufacturers at the end of the line to be remade into something new. Items that are typically remade into new products include:

This process reduces the necessity to harvest, cultivate or extract raw materials to create something other than. This reduces the damage done to the environment; less trees are chopped down rivers are diverted and wild animals are displaced. This also reduces the amount of pollution caused by the disposal of raw materials into our water, soil and the air.

Leveling

Most units can be upgraded which grants them additional XP each time they attack or are attacked. This XP is used to unlock upgrades or increase the primary stat of the unit. Weapons are a good example of this, as they can be leveled up by increasing their damage and range.

Most leveling systems have a minimum number of levels that must be reached, but it can differ from game-to-game. Leveling is done through the use of coins or materials. The majority of systems employ both to increase the level of an item, however a few only employ one or the other.
